October, 2010 This video shows the press conference in New York City, where the announcement of the acquisition was held. Joshua Levinberg, co-founder of Gilat, was the leader of the process. This was Gilat's largest deal in over a decade. Gilat is positioned as a significant player in the vital international military market. It acquired Wavestream, which set the standard in the manufacturing and planning of the subsequent generation of high power solid state amplifiers used by government and armies worldwide. Wavestream developed compact solid state amplifying systems that can perform powerful transmissions, satisfying the American army and many others. The acquisition furnished Gilat with an estimated annual revenue of $459 million.
